delayed
A time-twisting platformer about precision, planning, and seeing your past actions come to life.
Delayed is a 2D platformer I worked on during the summer of 2025 as a level designer and pixel artist. The project received a grant from Sammes Stiftelse in Skellefteå, which allowed us to spend the summer developing the prototype.
In Delayed, you play as a small robot whose inputs are recorded as you move. When you think you have finished the level, you press Enter and watch the robot replay your recorded actions.
The idea came from a classmate who wanted a game designer involved and knew that I also worked with pixel art, so that became my role. I was part of shaping the concept and tone of the game, refining the movement feel, and designing several of the main gameplay features.
I created the robot character and animations in Aseprite, built several levels in Unity, and designed the main collectible. I also created all the Steam page artwork, though these may change as the project develops.
My work on Delayed is currently on hold while I focus on my studies, but I am proud of what we have built and excited to see where it goes next. The game is already listed on Steam, and we have been active in the local game community in Skellefteå, showing it to the public and even being featured in the local newspaper.
These are a few of the animations I created for our main character to bring its movement and personality to life.
Here is one of the levels I worked on. It started as a rough sketch in Miro before I built the general layout and refined it in Unity.
These images capture the tone of the game and include a few of the levels that have been polished further.
